You should attempt to resolve the IE8 issues. It may not be too difficult.

Try these fairly easy procedures before uninstalling IE8.
1. With the warning that a reset will delete autocomplete data, such as
passwords and you will have to reinstall or re-enable browser add-ons, work
through this article:

3. Are you running antivirus or a security suite from McAfee or Norton? Is
the program updated automatically? Was the program running when IE8 was
installed?
