Unfortunately that Star icon is used to represent the Favorites Center
no matter what mode it is left in. You left yours in its History mode.

Press Ctrl-i instead of clicking on the button. Then the Favorites Center
will always open in its Favorites mode. BTW notice the button's tooltip
that continually reminds us that we can also use its Alt-c shortcut?
IMO that is misleading. In fact, Alt-c is *not* the equivalent of clicking on
the Favorites Center button, e.g. to open it in its current mode.
Alt-c in fact, would also do what you want, being simply an alternative
to the better known Ctrl-i
