Whats up here then?

Hi All,

I am using explorer 8 beta and all of a sudden i am unable to display some
pictures on a few web sites. I get an X in a box in replace for the picture
that should be present.

I have checked the options in Tools --> Internet Options --> Advanced but
cannot see an option which allows all kinds of pictures e.g. Gif, JPG etc,
etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why the beta still? The final release has been out some months.....

Uninstall the beta (to revert to whatever was your prior version of
Internet Explorer) and install the *released* version of IE8.

Are you using any ad-block add-ons or software? Are you using a hosts
file to block hosts?

What security products (anti-virus, anti-malware, firewall, etc.) did
you install that interrogate and possibly alter your web traffic?

Same trouble if you reboot into Windows' Safe Mode (with networking) and
then connect to those problematic sites? Got an example of what is a
problematic web site? And at that site, what content is it that shows
as an "X" placeholder?

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista x64 SP2) when
posting to this newsgroup.

When did you install "IE8 beta"?

On which webpages are you seeing the "red x" instead of pix?
