IE8 does not remember text typed into address field in seprate tab

Hello
When opening a new tab and typing text into the address field / bar but not
pressing "Load" or "Enter", the text gets lost if changing focus to another
tab and then back again.

This is a real problem, when one tries to copy and paste a multiline lnk
from somewhere into the address bar.
One pastes the first line, switches focus to copy the second line, only to
find that the address field is completely emtpy again when returning to paste
the second bit.

Perhaps this can be remidied for the bext upgrade?
