IE7 and IE8 can't always find / resolve webpages

Hello,
Since upgrading to IE7, I started getting this problem:

Quite often when I type or click a webaddress or just on an ebay auction or
anything, it comes up either with the search engine or stating that the
webpage could not be found...

In IE8 this seems slightly less frequent but still present and the only
difference is that it now wants me to trouble shoot my connection etc.

Every single time, when I click reload or just try again with exactly the
same link, it then works.

It is really anoying.
I have a dialup connection at 46kB.
Maybe IE does not wait long enough for the addrss to resolve or something?

It never happend in IE6 ever and it started happening immediately when I
installed IE7.

System is XP home edition 2002. Problem happens without and now with SR3
Various versions of IE7 and IE8 are doing this.

How can I resolve this issue?
