import favorites

I have reformatted my harddisk. I have exported by favorties to my documents
and got a bookmark.HTM file with all my favorites listed.

However when I now import the favorites at the end I get the message not a
valid bookmark file.

I have IE 7

Since Favorites is just a folder IE knows to look for, all you have to
do is copy the folder's contents to the same folder on the other
machine.

I've never played with export/import methods, so I'm afraid I can't help
there. I would think though, that you might be able to open it in IE
and save to Favorites from there. A little tedious, perhaps. Have you
checked Help to see what it says? Or tried Google?

I am doing exactly as the help suggests.The irony is in the end the bookmark
file is treated as not a valid one.

I copied the bookmark file into the favorites folder and it is stored as a
single htm file. If the import is done then the folders are listed and it is
easier for browsing.

I have windows XP SP2 on my PC and IE7. I followed the advice of the link
and the import was successful.
