Sounds like there's a filetype being referenced which Office thinks it
should control but for which you have not yet installed its support?

If you can't figure out what the symptoms that you are seeing
(but aren't disclosing to us) are really telling you, you could
try running ProcMon to supplement whatever diagnostics
your are getting (and in turn make those diagnostics more
evident by giving them more context.)
