Using the F12 Image Report and Colors dialog it seems to be getting
some of the Background color, at least when Windows Colors
isn't checked. I didn't bother trying to change my Windows background
color but FWIW I couldn't see your "transparent" PNG then at all.
Developer Toolbar Find tool (Ctrl-b) shows that it is still there however;
e.g. white on a white background.
