Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista x64 SP2) when
posting to this newsgroup.
Uninstalling IE8 automatically returns the machine to the previous IE
version. If previous IE version was IE7, there was no need to "reinstall"
IE7.
By any chance did you use System Restore to "uninstall" IE8?
