IE8 Word plug-n?

Word documents now open right in IE8 rather than shelling out to Word. I'm
calling this a plug-in, right or wrong. The problem is that text boxes (OLE
or text boxes placed with the VBA toolbox) and other objects embedded into
the Word doc don't behave correctly. For example, the tab key actually
inputs 4 spaces rather than tabbing to the next text box. Is there a way to
change this behavior?

What operating system and what version of Word?

Thanks. Sorry, my mistake. Word 2003 and XP Professional.

I actually want it to open in IE if it would behave correctly. My guess is
it won't, no matter what I do, so I've begun working on another solution.
However, I have posted this in hopes that someone might know something that
will help. The link below will demonstrate the behavior of the text boxes if
anyone wants to see it. All the code has been removed.
