What setting has changed preventing previous search words?

I had some issues connecting to the internet over the weekend (using my air
card). The problem was my firewall, however I was asked to change SO MANY
settings.

Now when I right click in search windows, the previous list of search words
are not available anymore. What setting in IE8 turns this on and off?

Forms autocomplete..... Tools>Internet Options - Content tab, AutoComplete -
Settings button.

You should still have your search history there if you haven't deleted it.

If you are using the google homepage, I think there are settings (see
Options on the Google homepage) to switch your search history on and off.
