ie8 and ie7 together von vista 64-bit

hi,

i am currently creating websites for my employer and use vista 64-bit german
with english language pack.

a while ago my ie7 has been upgraded to ie8.

however i now wanted to install ie7 too in addition. this is in order to
test my websites for compatibility. either ie7 i choose (windows xp/2003 64
bit / windows xp 32 bit) i receive the message that my operating system is
not supported.

how can i achieve having both (ie8 and ie7) running on my vista os? please
note: i do not care about 64-bit supportability or not...

You cannot have IE7 and IE8 running in the same Windows partition. Consider
running Vista w/IE7 in a separate partition or in a Virtual Machine.

IE8's compatibility mode should do what you want without trying to run two
separate versions. You can use [File]>[New Session] to open a separate instance
and load the page in IE8 native mode in one and Compatibility mode in the other.
