Favorites rerouted to external drive

I was backing up my bookmarks and somehow the favorites are now looking for
my external drive instead of the local folder.

How can I fix this?

How did you "back up [your] bookmarks"?

I copied the favorites folder in my personal folder

I just reset all of my IE settings and that fixed it
