IE8 in WinXP Problem

Dear all,

I have install and uninstall IE8 a few times but the problem still exists.
When I select "Help"-> "About Internet Explorer" a dialog box/page will
appear but it is blank/empty, ie there is nothing, no text nor buttons. Also
when I go to website that has script error (the icon that appear on the
extreme left hand corner of the status bar of IE), upon click on the icon I
will also get the blank/empty dialog page. What can be wrong here? Thanks.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running
in the background when you installed IE8?

Has a(nother) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Just asking for now!! Do NOT use such a Restore Point yet!! => Do you have
an available Restore Point which predates the install of IE8?
