Re: Two questions
1. 'IE8 WindowsXP-X86 ENU.exe' is the installer. Once you have installed
IE 8, you no longer need the installer, so you may as well delete it.
IE 8 (like IE 7) does not place an icon on the desktop as did previous
versions of IE. Something to do with a legal settlement. You can create
an icon on your own.
2. Please describe what the 'new web page' looks like.
