CTRL+F not working

When I press ctrl+f only a blank bar appears below the 'tab-bar'.
I've found other threads regarding this issue but no fix found yet.
(Windows XP SP3 - IE8)
Any help would be appreciated!

Works fine on my PC.

Most problems attributed to Internet Explorer are actually caused by
third party software. Run Internet Explorer in 'No Add-Ons' mode:

If you have XP: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)

Alternatively, you can create a shortcut on your desktop with the
following target path:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

If the problem does not occur in 'No Add-Ons' mode, then it's being
caused by one of the add-ons that you have installed. We can show you
how to identify which add-on is causing the problem.

Hi Leonard,

I have a quick fix for the CTRL+F


start |run | cmd

copy and paste the following:

regsvr32 oleacc.dll

Hit enter then exit.

Should work fine.
