IE8 - Links toolbar gone,

Hello

In IE8 there appears to be a problem with regards to the Links toolbar...
It's gone! Yet, what is held under the C:\Documents and Settings\ folder for
Bookmarks\Links now appears upon a nameless separate Toolbar alongside
another toolbar called the "Favorites Bar"... so in otherwords my Links
still appear but what I had within the space of a full-screened window, is
now reduced due to a an extra toolbar with simply a "Star" icon within it...
how can I get rid of that ... "lone star"

The real problem I'm finding with Links/Bookmarks is that over time I
accumulate lots... however unless these are filed away properly, then
finding again something that seemed useful at the time, is neigh on
impossible.... perhaps if others have the same issue then its worth opening
a discussion thread upon that topic...
