Internet Explorer won't save some image files properly

The sites I'm going to link to are SFW, so don't worry about clicking on them.

IE7 won't save some image files properly. For example, when I try to save
the .png on this page, whether I save it as a png or change the Save As File
Type to bmp, instead of the proper filename of
Bielkiss_Avril___giftart_by_Dashster "blank" appears in the Filename field
and both formats save as a tiny image with dimensions of 1X1.

Also, on the following five sites, when I try to save any image from them,
IE defaults to "untitled" for the filename and will only let me save it as a
bmp even though in other browsers like Opera or Firefox, they all save as
jpg's with a proper filename.

Why does IE do this? How can I fix the problem? I tried upgrading to IE8
and got the same results.
