True but this only highlights the lack of UI for supporting the TypedURLs list IMO.

In fact, you can. There are 25 entries max in that list. So you can easily
overwrite them or even use RegEdit to delete or replace just one.
So this is really saying: "The only UI we provide for clearing TypedURLs
entries is by clearing your History.IE5\index.dat." which really doesn't
make a lot of sense, just happens to have been convenient apparently for
the developers to do that. E.g. it would have made a lot more sense to
be able to delete a TypedURLs entry separately using a standard list
delete operation, independently of the History.IE5\index.dat list.
TypedURLs is a horrible anachronism. I wish that it had been removed
when AutoSuggest was created. It appears that the only reason it was
left is so that people could use that silly down arrow (or press F4 if that
is how they were using it), e.g., for compatibility or for when AutoSuggest
was not wanted--in which case then there could be complaints about
saving Address bar "history" when it wasn't wanted.
