My OS is Vista Home Premium and since installing recent MS updates and
upgrading to IE8 I find that my AV program (McAfee) keeps finding a
'potentially' unwanted program, namely Generic PUP.x!hv.I
This is classified as a new finding (late April) with Risk Home & Corporate
marked as N/A. Link for McAfee description of same is
http://home.mcafee.com/VirusInfo/Vir...spx?key=155618 In any case
McAfee can not remove it but I do have the option to Trust the same.
Also if I paste the whole Generic PUP string into the search bar on other AV
sites nothing is found. Looking at the file given, namely
C:\Windows\System32\NetsyncAgent\CTDRM.dll I wonder if it is safe and maybe
something to do with Digital Rights Management which 'arrived' with IE8
upgrade.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
