IE8 - In Toolbar View/Source

Previously in IE7, selecting this option displayed editable source code in
Notepad - (say) an html programme that I was testing. However, in IE8 the
code is displayed, but it cannot (as far as I can see) be edited - any
solutions?

Use the Developer Tools (press F12) and File, Customize... for Notepad.
