Sorry forgot, I am using XP Pro SP3 and IE7.
here is my problem, suppose I have a shortcut on my desktop, to
www.microsoft.com I double click to open it, when the MS page loads, I
deleted that shortcut. but after few seconds it reappears, and now its icon
is different, its icons is changes to the website fav icon. same if the
shortcut is in the favorites/bookmark folder.
I am a developer, I think its a bug related to favicon loading.
Possible bug: when we open a site,
1. IE start looking for favicon and opens the file handle of the shortcut
file
2. the user deletes the shortcut.
3. IE finished loading the favicon, and put the icon to the shortcut. that
gives us a new shortcut.
I experience this on multiple pcs, and with almost all links.

| No such problem here. Since you haven't told us what Favorite you're
| talking about, or even what version of Windows you have, you must be
| looking for a guess. I'll take two guesses:
|
| 1. Your computer is infected with malware.
| 2. Your security software does not allow the delete to stick.
