can't display webpage
I've read others questions and responses to this but when I go to uninstall
norton from their site I get the same message-can't access the webpage.
Whenever I try to down load McAfee, it looks like Windows is the one blocking
it. In fact, windows took this page as a popup and was blocking it. (I
clicked on 'view') When I called at&t they said I needed internet explorer to
download mcafee. So I did. I can't access the internet from exploerer and I
still can't download mcafee. I am nearly computer illerate. (I didn't think
so but apparently I am!) And I'm just about in tears! Can somebody help?
Please and thanks!

Just wondering...if you hold your Ctrl key when clicking
a link to a webpage does it make a difference?

I can't figure out how we should be expected to parse this.
Hence I really have no idea what you are doing or seeing.

Explain what you are doing and why.

Normally when you uninstall something you don't even need to be
connected, so why you would be getting a "message" "from their site"
I have no idea.

I'm going to guess here that this means you saw a blank page
and used View Source? And then you saw some HTML source
which wasn't rendered on your IE window? That's not a popup
being blocked. The reason why you would not be seeing the HTML
rendered would depend on various factors, the most likely being
too tight security settings. In order to set your Security settings to
default doubleclick on the security zone icon in the Status bar,
e.g. usually the one labeled Internet, and then click on Default Level
in the Security tab that brings up.

BTW it also helps us a lot to see the URL that you see in your Address bar
when you are having trouble with a publicly accessible page.

I suspect you are misinterpreting your symptoms.
It looks as if you are just have trouble opening one page.

Just guessing but I suspect the OP has been advised to download the Norton
Removal Tool from their site but cannot access the webpage.

Re: can't display webpage
Try the IE Help menu. Click on help, then index, then try keywords like
Norton or internet access, or popup, or whatever
OR
Search Google or Yahoo for "uninstall Norton" or whatever it is you're
trying to do. At least, unlike this Newsgroup, they won't answer your
question with a question.
