Is JavaScript disable on IE8?

Hi I have installed java from www.java.com, but when I try to open my email
and download a file in .html and that needs JavaScript I see a message of
JavaScript is disable. In manage add-ons is not disable.
What can I do?

2. Was ESET Smart Security running in the background when you installed IE8?
Is your version of ESET Smart Security even supported in IE8?

3. Have you tried disabling NOD32's email scanning inbound & outbound)?

I'll try it. thanks. windows vista sp1 here and attachment html that needs
javascripts works in another browser just not work in ie8.

The Java Runtime Environment and JavaScript are entirely different things. Yes, JavaScript is enabled in IE8. Are you using a web-based e-mail system? I'm not really sure that I understand the problem that you're describing.

Oh thanks man!
I use web-based email and I receive in my email a file of my ISP to be
opened in internet explorer .html. The file to be accessed ask me for my
password, but I see a message saying javascript in not enable. Can you help
me?
