Editing webpages in IE8: Temporary Internet Files
When I am viewing an htm file on my (local) computer in IE7 I can rightclick
on my web pages and use the context menu to "View Source" and edit the xhtml
source code in the text editor of my choice. The file pathname might look
something like:
C:\webs\f3s\jt\index.htm
BUT, when I try to do this with IE8, the file opens as a temporary internet
file, with a pathname something like:
C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temp orary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\LFWERI1W\index[1]
This makes updating websites more difficult and I am looking for a
convenient fix.
I guess the change is a security move, but at the moment it is bothering me
to have to change the way I work just because of a version update.
I'm new here - apologies if this has been dealt with and please just point
me to the link.
