Loss of connection

I cannot access my internet. When I click on the internet icon I get the
revolving circle for few seconds and then nothing. When I right click on the
icon and the click open nothing happens either. What can be the cause and
how do I correct it? My OS is Windows Vista Business and IT7

There could be a hundred causes, and since you provided so little detail
in your question, the answer is anyone's guess. Here's my guess: Check
with your ISP.
