IE8 only loads in Normal but not Maximized window

Are you sure you aren't seeing a consequence of scripting
from a particular site or some effect from an add-on you have?

Try creating a Desktop shortcut (aka .lnk file) for about:blank using

%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff about:blank

and change its Run: option to Maximized.

Yes, I'm sure. Setting the Run optiin to Maximized works on some of my
machines but not on others.

maximized, regardless of Run option setting. If I add -nohome after the last
quotesk then it will load mximized. This is new to IE8 -- didn't have to do
this before.

Have you tried opening your registry editor(Regedt32) and going to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Document Windows
and setting the value for "Maximize" to "yes"?

That won't do it. Turns out you have to specify the -nohome parameter to get
it to behave correctly.

1. Close all IE windows.

2. Open one of these shortcuts.

3. "Grab" the opposing corners of the window and "stretch" it to fill your
screen but do NOT maximize it.

4. Close the resized window.

The stretch and close did not work on my system. Maximize and close either.

The suggestion by another member in another post worked. Right-click on IE
icon on taskbar, right-click Internet Explorer, Properties, Run (drop-down)
Maximized.

I have used the 'Internet Explorer Properties Run Maximized' on all IE links
and this works but each one must be done individually.

It does NOT change the fact that when using a 'Links' shortcut from the
taskbar or a shortcut in Windows Explorer that IE opens a 'normal' sized
window. Their must be a registry key control?

The registry key change did not correct the problem of not opening in a
maximized window. Could the 'x' and 'y' settings be the factor?
