urls in "Favorites" disappeared after installing IE8

Installed IE 8. Clicked on Tools>Internet Options>Delete, cleared the
Checkmark beside "Preserve Favorites website data". Then I discovered that
all the urls in every item(402 urls) in my "Favorites" folder had been
deleted. ALL of them now point to "" (i.e. an empty string). Does anyone have
any idea how I can recover these urls? I've already tried Norton Unerase-no
good. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Never mind. Turns out it was the installer that corrupted them. It also
altered my registry so that those ugly little icon overlays were back. All
fixed!
