IE7 crashes when right-clicking folder in Favorites
Hello,

When I right-clicked a folder in Favorites, IE crashes and stops responding.
I tried to restore IE settings to it default set in Internet Options, but no
luck. I uninstalled IE8 to go back to IE7 (which is what I have now), but

Vista?

1. You may have an incompatible browser add-on installed.
For troubleshooting information see:

2. If the problem is not caused by an add-on, look for a third-party program
as the cause.
936214- How to troubleshoot compatibility problems that affect IE7 in
Windows Vista:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936214 (Also applies to XP)

3. Third-party antivirus/antispyware programs should be disabled when
installing Internet Explorer. If they weren't you may have a corrupted
installation of IE8. Reinstalling with these programs disabled may be the
solution.

Hope this helps,

Re: IE7 crashes when right-clicking folder in Favorites
I had this issue in IE7 but I fixed it. I now have the same issue in IE8 but
have not been able to fix it. I fixed the issue in IE7 by designating my
favorites to the correct drive. I have a C: drive for OS and programs and a
D: drive for everything else, including my user folder with pics, docs,
internet favorites etc. Apparently IE7 couldn't handle being installed on the
C: drive and the favorites designated to the D: drive. So I go into
"properties" in the favorites folder and change it's destination from D: to
C:. This worked like a charm for IE7 but for IE8 it won't work. Every single
right-click immediately crashes IE. Right-clicking on links that are not
foldered do not crash IE, only right-clicking the folders does this.
