I had the same problem after downloading IE8, kept getting error messages.
I had to download IE8 3 times in order to correct the problem. At least it
appears that's what fixed it. I still get an error box once in a while when
I try to connect to Yahoo, but that's the only one. I also found by
deleting old Icons and making new ones helped too.
