Internet Explorer 8 - home page issue

I installed IE 8 the other day and the only issue I have so far is that when
I start it up, it does not display my home page, instead every time it gives
me the message of "Internet Explorer can not display the webpage" I have a
home page specified. In tabbed browsing I have "Open only the first home page
when Internet Explorer starts" and also "When a new tab is opened, open"
specified to "Your first home page" No matter what I do I still get the
cannot display the webpage error. If I click on the home button after that it
loads it no problem as well as doing a refresh on the page and also choosing
a favorite site. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

this is only a guess, but we have had a similar post.

One of your homepages is in the Trusted Sites security zone. Tools>Internet
Options - Security tab, Trusted Sites Button.
