NCAA Video Not Playing in VISTA Home Premium and IE 8.0
I am trying to view the NCAA basketball tournament games on my Gateway
Laptop. This is a dual boot Windows Vista Home Premium/IE 8.0 on one
partition and Windows 7 on the other. I have no problem in Windows 7 - the
games run fine in both standard and HQ mode. However, on my Vista partition,
when I click on a game, the viewing area turns briefly black and then returns
to the prior screen in Standard mode. In HQ mode, it says that "There is a
problem with the selected video, please make another selection below." This
happens no matter what I click on. It is not a hardware problem because it
runs fine in Windows 7, and also in Firefox on my Vista partition (although
there is only one mode to chose from which seems to be a hybrid between
Standard and HQ).
Anyone have any ideas? I disabled pop up blocker for the site and also check
my Norton Internet Security 2009 but there were no meesages in the log.
Note - the problem originally occurred in IE 7.0. Since it worked in Win 7,
I thought it wa worth a try to upgrade to IE 8.0, but no such luck. Nothing
in the Windows Event Log on this.
