opening diff tabs on IExplorer7

So listen, I have been having an issue for over 1 week now with my current IE
(7). I open my email fine, do a search on the same tab, fine. But when I try
to use a link on that search and open it in a diff tab, the browser freezes
and restarts. Over and over and over. Could mt IE be corrupted? I dont know
much a bout computers, but this is driving me insane. I lose the search, have
to re do it every time, and hope that it doesnt freeze with my nmext option.
Help!

This is a relatively new desktop, got it last nov. Everything seems to work
fine on it (except this weird humming that it makes at random points during
operation). When the browser closes, the tower also makes weird crackling
sound, I assume part of the processes that were disturbed... not sure.

But I am about to give up and get a diff browser or something...

Im frustrated by this issue.

What happens if you run in No Add-ons mode? Start > All Programs >
Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) , assuming
Windows XP (you didn't mention the OS you're using). If it doesn't then you
have one or more add-ons running that are causing problems - disable them
all, enable each one by one and test again until you find the culprit(s).
