New IE Window Closes Right After Opening in Navigation

I have experienced the following with several sites the last day or so: I
click to get a new page, and the new page shows briefly and then IE closes. I
haven't had the problem long enough to verify whether this is site-to-site or
within pages in a single site. I can easily open IE7 and go to the first site
and some others, but then I get this surprise.

Cancel my earlier post. My IE7 is being redirected, sometimes apparently to
the link just below or above the one I clicked on in a list on a web page.
The occasional automatic closing of IE7 appears to be a consequence of a
redirect gone bad. I see a lot of online posts indicating that ordinary
spyware/malware does not catch redirect problems. What does Microsoft advise?
