IE7, bufferoverflow, mcafee

When I try to open IE7, mcafee says it blocked it because of a buffer
overlfow. Since this started I am also having trouble with aol. OS is windows
xp pro service pack 3. Both Mcafee and windows are updated. Macafee is not a
freebie and includes firewal, virus protection and a number of other
protection services. I am unable to dl any malware fix or protection
programs. Mcafee virus scan came up with nothing. Help I hate using aol to
connect to the internet. Would un-installing and re-installing IE7 fix this?
I have tried everytrhing I can find on the internet and nothing sems to work.
