Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when
posting to this newsgroup.

On its own, KB967715 only creates an empty Registry key when you reboot so I
dunno how installing it might be related. Are you using a wireless
(notebook) mouse with a USB receiver? Does uninstalling KB967715 resolve
the behavior?
