IE7 unable to play flash movies

Since the last major IE7 patches flash videos do not play any more. I
have several pages containing .swf (flash video files) that IE7 does not
play/open (the status line shows done with a preceeding yellow
exlamation mark and the details view says: "Error: object expected", but
that's about it). If I paste the very same link into chrome or firefox,
the flash movie plays fine. When will we see that fixed? It *USED* to
work in IE7, too.

No problem with Flash here -- IE 7 on Win XP.

If your link to the Flash file(.swf) is in the form of "Some
Server.com/some.swf" then it will not open in IE7 unless you have Local
Machine Lockdown enabled. If you have Local Machine Lockdown disabled and
you click on such a link, all you'll get is a blank screen with the yellow
icon in the Status Bar. To enable Local Machine Lockdown, navigate to the
following area:

Tools||Internet Options||Advanced(tab)||Security(section)

Remove the checkmark next to the box that reads "Allow active content to run
in files on My Computer"
