Web Filtering software advice please !
Hunted with Google !

Tried using Netnanny, then Cyberpatrol, and K9

NONE work, i.e. they simply completeley block all web connectivity !
(made restore point before installing each / uninstall / drop back to
restore point - b4 trying the next application etc.)
....pc and XP is robust and trouble free - can't figure out why none of these
"filters" work.
When prompted by AVG firewall - I gave each prog. full permission, and
ticked the "Always" box etc.

This is a reasonably fresh XP Home SP3 install, ...AVG 8.0 full internet
security suite installed
....using a Linksys WAG354G adsl modem/router and LAN lead.

....any tips would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

regards, Richard

Re: Web Filtering software advice please !
Many thanks,

....am getting along fine now with CyberPatrol, ...

I trialled several "web filtering programs" ....very unimpressed !
They all failed to work, and blocked ALL web access. (made restore point/s
prior to installing / uninstalling etc.)

.....then I tried CyberPatrol (which also block all internet access the 1st
time I tried it), ...was gettiing fed up with installing / uninstalling
....dropping XP Home ed. SP3+ back to that restore point prior to installing
etc. ...then I though I'd try CyberPatrol again ...now working VERY well,
.....very impressed, especially how it matches user profile name to "its' "
profiles when switching profiles i.e. it selects its' matching XP profile
with differrent web access level etc !!

....this is on new build PC for very young niece,

....any one in here using CyberPatrol, (I've already gone on and paid for a 1
year license), but, would still be interested in other views on
"CyberPatrol".

TIA

regards, Richard
