organize and delete favorites

I posted a few days ago about resetting favorites and not being able to
download favicons from web pages. When I received reply in email it did not
show page and I could not find my post on this sight. Anyway, a new problem
has began. I delete and sort the favorites in the favorite center and they
keep reappearing even after I empty temporary files. I am trying to remember
what I might have done to change settings on my computer and cannot think of
anything I have done except update from windows update. Just seems to have
started suddenly by itself. I have Compaq Presario with Windows Basic and
Internet Explorer 7. Than ks in advance for any help out there!!
