IE APPLICATION error

Running WindowsXP SP2 home edition and I.E.7 wanted to make sure I had all
the current updates to went to the site and downloaded them. Now I get an
error msg when I close out of web sites. I went back and re-downloaded
I.E.7 and installed it with no problem. Now I get the error:
IEEXPLOR.exe application error
instruction 0x42fb1fff reference memory @ oxo3483878 could not be read

What do I need to do. I did reg clean and rebooted

I'm running the same system, tried the same repair, and am continuing to get
the same error message. Is there a fix?
