Type Ahead delay setting for IE 7

Is there anyway to set the length of time before a keystoke event clears the
type ahead buffer on a SELECT element and starts over again?
SELECT with following options:
AL
AR
AK
...
KS

if a user types AK quick enough, AK is suggested, if the user is a little
slower between key strokes, KS is suggested when they type K. Anyway to
extend the time between key strokes?
