Can't see internet with IE7

About a week ago both IE7 and outlook Express stopped being able to access
the internet. IE7 comes shows that it is connected, but the page is blank
and oulook can't send or receive messages. AT&T ran diagnostics and say that
I am connected throught the modem and ethernet card and that their software
is functioning properly. They say it is a virus. So does Best buy. Norton
& SpySweeper did not find it. Norton says it is a microsoft problem. They
all keep passing the buck and the buck stops at microsoft. Anybody have any
suggestions?

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in
conjunction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on
its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any
hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
