Lost all favorites after installing patch

I lost all my favorites links (URLs) after installing the patch. The Property
of all links shows only the location where the favorites are supposed to be
stored. I tried to add a new favorite, same thing happened (it stored only
the file location, such as c:\Documents and Settings\USER\Favorites).
Something wrong with the patch???
or my setup???

Hi,
If you uninstall the update, KB960714, are Favorites usable? Can you add a
Favorite? When you reinstall 960714 do the problems return?

If it appears that 960714 is definitely causing the problems, no charge
support is available via phone, e-mail or chat (depending on location.)
