Internet explorer 7 shuts down when new tab is clicked

I think the above says it all, except that clicking the new tab exits the
programme faster than clicking the X!

I have reinstalled IE7 and restored the PC to a previous time but to no avail.

And what happens if you run in No Add-ons mode?
