Security Alert

I am using Windows XP Home SP3 - IE 7 (7.0.5730.13

This morning I tried to view a pdf file and got a Security Alert which said
"Your security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded."

That was a surprise because I have downloaded pdf files many times in the
past with no problem. This is the first time I have seen that alert.

Where can I look to find the settings which are preventing this download.

This was my only way in...by replying to a post already made..Help! What
have you done? I allowed the newest updates and found my entire system
changed...that's not fair...put it back.....

We haven't done anything...so we can't put it back.

I found an answer . . . TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > SECURITY > INTERNET >
CUSTOM LEVEL > FILE DOWNLOAD > ENABLE

I don't know how it got marked "DISABLE" because I haven't been into that
file. I have been downloading pdf files and all of a sudden I couldn't do it
.. . . so . . . it got disabled somehow. Maybe the last security patch . . .
?
