page visited color
Vista Biz / I.E..0.6001.18000

A week or 2 ago, IE 7 stopped changing the color of the pages/links I have
visited. I looked at Tools/Options/General/Colors and it was set to "use
windows colors". I tried to uncheck it and set my own color but it still
doesn't do anything. This used to work just fine, and the only thing that
has been installed on my box are some windows updates. Did one of them
disable this option? How can I get it to track pages/links I've visited
again?

Thanks in advance.

Andre

Hi,
Your message headers indicate Vista, right?

This problem usually results from corruption in the History folder.
Try, in order:
1. Clear the History and set "Days to keep history" to, at most, 20-30 days.
2. Clear the History, then use IEHistoryView- NirSoft:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iehv.html to remove any remaining data.
3. Clear your History with PurgeIE (15 day free trial)
http://www.purgeie.com/ This will also clear the index.dat file, a possible
contributer to this problem.

Hope this helps,

You're welcome. Glad that one or more of those steps worked.
