iexplore.exe error

Hello,
I recently purchased a brand new comp...only issue i have with it is that
everytime i try and open my work email server i get the following error
message and the window closes. I am not overly computer savy so an answer
that would suit an ignoramus such as myself would be appreciated. I am using
Vista home for the first time.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an usual way.
