mpegs won't open in quicktime in IE7

mpeg files won't open in quicktime. the quicktime viewer won't open in IE7.
all I get is a white screen and a yellow exclamation point in the bottom left
corner. i've been having this problem for several weeks now. i've tried
everything - reinstalling quicktime, reinstalling IE7, installing
quicktimealternative, installing IE8 beta - absolutely nothing works. can
someone help me??

You seem to be having trouble with QuickTime, which is an Apple product.
Apple probably has their own newsgroups, and that's the best place to
find help with their software.
