Hi,
First...
Try the procedure in this MSKB article to reset the icon cache:

Next, using smaller icons may help.
From Display Properties> Appearance> Effects, uncheck "Use large icons."
From Display Properties> Appearance> Advanced> Item> Icon, try using icons
smaller than 46.
Setting the shortcut to "Read only" after changing the icon may help.
