pictures keeps turning off

ever time I start up IE it wont show pictures. I can go in to the Tools and
the advanced tab and check it and it works again but after some time or if I
open another window it is off again. I have tried many of the suggestions on
this page to no avail. I am running the newest version of IE in XP.

When you check "Show pictures" and OK your way out, is there only one IE
window open?

These *and other* third-party programs can block the registry changes
necessary to change some IE settings. Examine the settings of
security/privacy/antispyware programs for the option to lock homepage, lock
IE control panel, lock IE settings, prevent spyware from changing settings,
etc.
Spybot (Advanced Mode) Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Ad-aware Pro
Norton AV 2006 (Web Browsing > Spyware protection) and other Norton products
McAfee AV or Antispyware
Spyware Blaster
Spysweeper
